MultEQ Room Correction Solutions
Audyssey MultEQ room correction technology solves the problem of distortion caused by room acoustics to deliver the best sound possible for everyone in your home theater. MultEQ technology is scalable and is available in four correction solutions: MultEQ XT, MultEQ, 2EQ, and EQ. Each is built around the same core science, but optimized to operate within the constraints of the available DSP processing power. The differences between the four solutions are in the number of possible measurement positions and the resolution of the equalization filters. Speaker and subwoofer delay and level settings and polarity checks are performed with the same level of precision in all four solutions.
MultEQ XT
Audyssey MultEQ XT is our advanced resolution room correction solution. MultEQ XT takes up to 8 measurements around the listening area and uses high resolution equalization filters for satellites and subwoofers.
MultEQ XT products that are installer-ready can be calibrated by an Audyssey Registered Installer to provide even higher performance. Installers can take up to 32 measurements using the MultEQ Pro software on their PC to calibrate even the most demanding large or odd-shaped rooms. MultEQ
Audyssey MultEQ is our standard resolution room correction solution. MultEQ takes up to 6 room position measurements, and uses mid-level resolution filters for satellites and subwoofers.
2EQ
Audyssey 2EQ is our basic resolution room correction solution. Audyssey 2EQ measures 3 room positions, uses a basic resolution filter for the satellites, but does not apply a filter to the subwoofers.
EQ
Audyssey EQ is our factory calibrated preset room correction solution. It is designed for systems that ship with their own speakers, such as 2.1 systems, Home Theater-in-a-Box (HTiB) systems, Table Radios or Televisions. Audyssey works directly with the manufacturers to precisely measure the systems’ performance to simulate a typical room environment. Audyssey EQ removes much of the distortion caused by speaker enclosures and the typical room environment, producing improved sound.
