Hearing surround movies like never before
"I consider Audyssey Laboratories' new Sound Equalizer component to be the most comprehensive and accurate audio calibration tool ever . . . The realization of powerful, tight and articulated bass, seamless and completely cohesive sound from all channels and crystal-clear dialogue is unbelievable." Read more.
Patrick Hart, CE Pro Magazine, January 2007
Superb timbral match, top-notch dialogue clarity, seemingly limitless dynamic range and great envelopment
"The dARTS system is one of only a very few where there is a truly seaemless blend providing a homogenous blend of loudspeakers and the surround equivalent of the Motown "Wall of Sound". There's no height or timbral disparity, I suspect, due to the use of the Audyssey EQ to normalize frequency and phase response across the listening positions . . . What you get is a system that has superb timbral match, with top-notch dialogue clarity, seemingly limitless dynamic range, and great envelopment." Read more.
John Kotches, Widescreen Review, October 2006
A startling achievement
"What Phase Tech's engineers and Audyssey's scientists have achieved is startling. In terms of tonal neutralitythe evenness, balance, and natural sound of bass, midrange, and treblethe dARTS system may be the best I have heard" Read more.
Brent Butterworth, Home Entertainment, September/October 2006
Why settle for a sweet spot when you can have a sweet room?
"MultEQ XT expands that single-seat sweet spot into a shared, multi-listener experience . . . the vocals from the center channel were crisp and clearly audible without the tonal-balance problems that often result when you mount a speaker close to the floor under a projection screen." Read more.
Darryl Wilkinson, Home Theater Magazine, October 2006
Bringing audio nirvana to home theater
"The center of the original sweet-spot had spread to cover 6 different listener positions! . . . The inclusion of the MultEQ XT system within an AVR destined for home use is a worthwhile addition and a successful step forward in bringing audio nirvana to the home theatre" Read more.
Mark Sanfilipo, Audioholics, February 2007
The system works as advertised
"Unlike other EQ systems, the Audyssey Sound Equalizer corrects both for time and frequency response problems with remarkable precision . . . the system works as advertised, smoothing tonal balance and improving frequency response accuracy across multiple listening locations" Read more.
Chris Martens, The Absolute Sound, September 2006
It adds to the home theater experience immeasurably
"Most auto-setup/EQ protocols leave me cold, but the Audyssey system is one I'm inclined to use . . . On James Taylor's Live at the Beacon Theater the before/after comparison was startling. Image focus, soundstage width, and soundspace continuity were markedly improved, and center channel information was more stable and better integrated . . . I can't say enough about MultEQ XT from Audyssey Labs. It adds to the home theater experience immeasurably, proving once again that Denon knows the difference between gimmicks and genuine advancements to the art of surround sound" Read more.
Neil Gader, The Perfect Vision, May/June 2006
Instantly noticeable
"Audyssey MultEQ XT is one of the best systems I have seen for equalization purposes . . . The improvements of Audyssey were instantly noticeable. The sound stage simply jumped out beyond the speakers; sounds appeared to be coming from much farther out than where the speakers were actually located. Dialog instantly became more legible and the depth of the subwoofer wasn't so overpowering in the different seating locations." Read more.

A key component for the recording studio
"Absolutely amazing! Balance, delays, image, stageall perfect. Response curves, resonance management, all that impossible stuffapparently possible after all. I have never even re-run the setup; the first try was so good that I have been using it ever since. But here's the kickerI hear no phase games, no IIR artifacts, no creepy dynamic image shifting. None at all.
In fact, when you turn on the Audyssey, the problems either go away or are noticeably minimized, the soundstage snaps into place and that's it. You don't really hear anything. You don't hear it work. But all hell breaks loose if you try turning it off after a few days. I tried . . . once. So there you have itan improbable story of hardcore mystic technology solving a problem that has never really had any viable solution until now. By the way, I am now using Audyssey in one of the studios, on monster speakers."

The MultEQ XT room corrections actually work
"What's special is that the EQ process incorporates corrections to reduce the impact of room acoustics on the sound for all listeners. That's no small feat. The MultiEQ/xt room corrections actually work--and not for just one listener with his head in a vise." Read more.
Daniel Kumin, Sound and Vision, May 2005
Outstanding sound quality
"It knit together all the sounds in movie soundtracks very effectively, for a far more seamless effect, no matter where you were sitting. It was extremely easy to set up, too. Basically, we're happy to report that Audyssey does exactly what it claims to, and home theater fans will certainly appreciate it." Read more.

You will be in for a surprise
"Once it is all done, you will be in for a surprise. I sure was surprised anyway. The sound was much smoother and had a terrific surround feeling . . . The Audyssey process worked so well, I just left it there. You have to hear this function for yourself to believe what it can do." Read more.
