Designing the Lower East Side

July 12, 2011
Audyssey

Though Audyssey’s newest speakers may at first look like just another pretty face, they were born of an epic battle between designers and engineers. Punches were thrown, paper flew and protractors nearly turned into life-threatening weapons as people whose brains work in entirely different ways tried to make cohesive decisions. And while a couple of interns may have been lost along the way, the resulting product, forged from equal parts intelligence and aesthetics, is easily worth the loss in manpower. Allow us to introduce the Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers. (more…)

How Smart is Your Speaker?

July 12, 2011
Audyssey

Audyssey speakers are getting smarter all the time.

The march of technology is fed by the simple desire to make things work faster, better, more efficiently… smarter. Want to make more cars? Use an assembly line. Want to fly faster? Use a jet engine. Want to annoy people by the millions? Try spam.

Today, technological improvements generally come from using software and computers. Sooner or later, these things find a way into just about everything and the results are usually stunning. We aren’t giving up our digital cameras, iPods or smart phones because they are far better than the things they replaced. They have the technology. (more…)

Introducing the Lower East Side

June 8, 2011
Audyssey

Audyssey expands the monthly Neighborhood event to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, showcasing up-and-coming talent at NYC’s historic music venue, Arlene’s Grocery

Since introducing our South of Market Audio Dock last fall, Audyssey has been a one-neighborhood sorta company. With its vibrant mix of modern art, music and tech start-ups, San Francisco’s SoMa District served as the initial muse to our first consumer-facing product, inspired our Neighborhood blog and warmly hosted our monthly concerts at 111 Minna Gallery.

SoMa will always be our first love, but we’re excited to introduce you to a new ‘hood in our lives: the Lower East Side. Less tech start-ups, more gritty rock’n’roll, the Manhattan neighborhood is a microcosm of the American dream. (more…)

True iPhone Stories Followup: Ali

April 11, 2011
Audyssey

In November we asked to hear your iPhone stories. We wanted to know how your coveted iPhone might have saved your life, found you “the one” or just a funny story of something the two of you have experienced.

Three lucky folks not only shared their story with us, but also won their very own South of Market Audio Dock. What better way to give a little something back to the little something (their phone), which changed their lives.

Now, several months later, we wanted to check with our Audio Dock winners to see if there has been any follow-up to their stories and, of course, to make sure they are enjoying their new iPhone docking station.

Ali

Read Ali’s touching story here. We were inspired by her positive outlook and we can relate to her love of music. As she puts it, “it’s better than morphine.” Thanks for sharing, Ali!

Joshua

It was the creativity and the details that captivated us in Joshua’s winning story. We could hear his heart racing when he lost his iPhone and the pure delight and awe when he got it back.
