Apple TV® is cool. There is so much to like about the diminutive device that more than a few people have chosen it as a cheaper alternative to cable service. You can enjoy anything on your computer's iTunes library, plus rent or buy movies and TV shows right from the iTunes store. And don’t forget Netflix movies and TV shows, podcasts, Youtube videos, and MLB.net. It is a world of content, but adding speakers to make it equally interesting to your ears requires a bit more work.

Apple TV has only HDMI, optical and power connectors, so adding speakers would mean either running them off your TV, putting them through your AVR or adding Lower East Side Media Speakers with an optical cable. The LES Media Speakers are almost certainly the most inexpensive choice. They will give you big sound to match the videos you want to watch.
They plug right into Apple TV with an optical cable and the sound is amazing. They use their own power, Audyssey Smart Speaker™ technology and look as cool as the Apple TV. You do need to change the Apple TV settings to watch movies, but it is a one-time fix and takes about 20 seconds to complete (click for instructions).
Not only do movies sound great, but the AirPlay® component of Apple TV means that you will enjoy a lot more music, too. Stream from your iPhone, computer or just pick a music channel podcast. With the Lower East Side Media Speakers, you will get a lot more mileage from Apple TV.
One last quick note: We are offering our newsletter readers a FREE Apple TV when you purchase a pair of LES Media Speakers from Apple.com or an Apple Store between October 13, 2011 and October 23, 2011. Just download this PDF for all the details.
