How We Turn Up the Volume on Small Speakers
Small speakers don’t get very loud. Push them and they distort, eventually damaging the speaker. So audio dock, television, mobile phone and computer manufacturers apply aggressive volume limitations on their built-in speakers. But Audyssey Volume Extension technologies use sophisticated signal processing to locate and adjust the problem frequencies. That’s how we get clearer sound and higher playback volumes without distortion, even from devices with small speakers and limited amplifier power.
Volume Extension 2
Our advanced solution, Volume Extension 2 monitors your audio in real time. It isolates only the problem frequencies with the power to process a multitude of specific locations on the sound curve. When a frequency approaches distortion, Volume Extension 2 governs that precise location, leaving the rest of your audio clear, loud and untouched. So you get audio with volumes twice as loud out of your audio dock, television, mobile phone or laptop.
Volume Extension
Our original volume extending solution, Volume Extension monitors the audio by splitting it into frequency bands as opposed to the precision points of Volume Extension 2. The bands are then adjusted on-the-fly to accommodate your audio. It’s the perfect solution for the safe delivery of high volume in devices with limited processing power.
