LAS VEGAS, NV – (Marketwire – January 10, 2012) – Audyssey, a leader in consumer and professional audio, used CES as the backdrop to unveil its latest audio technology – Audyssey Tuning System (ATS). ATS dramatically reduces the time and cost associated with the EQ process and enables manufacturers to perfect the audio in their consumer products. ATS allows manufacturers to benefit from new efficiencies in the product development process and brings consumers a new standard of high-quality audio.
“In our years of helping our licensing partners fine-tune the audio in home theaters, we learned to identify and overcome the challenges that ruin the listening experience. We’ve applied that expertise not only to home theater, but also to many other segments of the market,” said Chris Kyriakakis, CTO at Audyssey. “We’re excited to give CE manufacturers a leg up on the competition by delivering best-in-class audio on virtually any platform.”
Audyssey Tuning System is based on MultEQ, Audyssey’s award-winning EQ and calibration technology. ATS uses multiple microphones to gather acoustical readings simultaneously and provides adjustments in real time. So whether it’s a TV, laptop, mobile phone or automobile, audio engineers can correct the problems and fine tune the sound to their specification and then easily replicate it across an entire line of products.
Audyssey is integral to many of the world’s most recognizable companies: Denon and Onkyo home theaters; automobiles such as Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi and Volvo; and Toshiba, Sharp and Insignia televisions. Audyssey has demonstrated a track record of success perfecting audio in various platforms, and the company is highly sought-after by manufacturers committed to delivering the best possible listening experience.
“As you can imagine, an automobile is quite a challenging environment for audio – we have speaker placement limitations, physical obstructions and a plethora of reflective and absorbent surface materials to contend with,” said Matt Jones, senior technical specialist, infotainment at Jaguar/Land Rover. “ATS dramatically speeds the time it takes to EQ our cars. And provides greater accuracy, too.”
Audyssey is currently in talks with many of its licensing partners to integrate ATS into the manufacturing process. Products designed with ATS will roll-out in 2012.
