Audyssey Supports IMAX Theatre Audio Calibration Internationally
Agreement With IMAX for nXos Calibrator Technology Expands to 14 Countries
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 7, 2011) - Audyssey, a leader in audio technology for the home, automotive, mobile and theater markets, today announced that under its collaboration with IMAX Corp. (NYSE: IMAX) (TSX: IMAX), Audyssey's MultEQ XT technology has been used as part of IMAX's nXos Calibrator Technology in 80 IMAX theatres in the US and 13 additional countries. IMAX's patent-pending nXos audio-tuning technology incorporates a highly customized version of Audyssey's MultEQ XT.

Audyssey began working with IMAX in 2009 to help enhance the tuning process in IMAX theatres in the U.S. The first theatres to receive IMAX's nXos treatment, which includes, among other technologies, Audyssey's MultEQ XT, were completed last year and, since then, the agreement has expanded to include countries such as China, Thailand, Japan, Germany, Russia and others.
Creating an immersive, life-like surround sound experience in a large movie theater has many challenges, from physical obstacles that reflect soundwaves to the task of creating a consistent listening experience theater to theater. Audyssey helped IMAX overcome these challenges by applying Audyssey MultEQ XT.
Since its development, Audyssey MultEQ XT technology has proven to be quite adaptable with versions found in a number of home theater AVRs, televisions, automobiles and mobile phones. It is the basis for Audyssey's growing portfolio of consumer electronic products, including the award-winning Audyssey South of Market Audio Dock.
