LOS ANGELES, CA – (Marketwire – April 19, 2011) – Audyssey, a leader in audio technology for the home, automotive, mobile and theater markets, today announced that Christos Lagomichos has been appointed the company’s new CEO. Lagomichos joins the company at a critical juncture, with Audyssey aggressively pursuing new opportunities within its licensing business, while making strides with its branded consumer audio products.
“We’re very excited that Christos has joined Audyssey as CEO,” said Chris Kyriakakis, Audyssey CTO and Chairman of the Board. “Since coming aboard in an advisory role a short time ago, he immediately grasped the key aspects of our business and added value from day one. We believe he has the vision and passion to take Audyssey to new heights.”
Lagomichos brings 30 years of experience developing solutions for the digital home, including set-top boxes, digital televisions and home audio components. His years of experience overseeing each link in the CE chain, with his extensive network of connections to the supplier and manufacturing industries, clearly qualify him to lead Audyssey.
“I’ve led some great companies during transformative times, but this opportunity with Audyssey is especially enticing because I’m joining at a time when we’re poised for big growth on multiple fronts,” said Lagomichos. “In particular, we’re expanding our licensing business into high-growth markets, such as the mobile and television markets and our consumer products are driving awareness of the organization, which adds real value to our licensing partners. I expect that we’ll close 2011 with strong growth with even greater rewards coming next year and beyond."
Prior to Audyssey, Lagomichos was president of Trident Microsystems, a global leader in semiconductor solutions for digital televisions and set-top boxes. Trident was a successful spin-off from NXP Semiconductors, where he spent three years at the helm of NXP’s digital consumer business. Through organic growth and acquisition, Lagomichos grew this business unit into a $1B operation. Prior to NXP/Trident, he spent more than two decades at STMicroelectronics, where he presided over several business units, including the Semicustom Products Division, Consumer Broadband Division and the Home Entertainment Group. Lagomichos’s quick ascension through the ranks and his track record of building successful organizations within STMicroelectronics and NXP/Trident demonstrate the value he will bring to Audyssey as the company’s new CEO.
